Terms of Use

Last updated: October 26, 2026. These terms apply to everyone who reads or uses ILMI Laws (ilmilaws.com). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Information, not legal advice

ILMI Laws publishes general information about Illinois and Michigan law. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws change and every situation is different, so speak with a licensed attorney in your state before acting on anything you read here. Our legal disclaimer explains this in more detail.

Accuracy and updates

We check our guides against the Illinois Compiled Statutes, the Michigan Compiled Laws, court opinions and official agency sources, and we show the date each page was last verified. Even so, we cannot promise that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it. If you spot an error, our corrections page explains how we handle fixes.

Using our content

All text, tables, graphics and the ILMI Laws name and logo belong to ILMI Laws unless stated otherwise. You may read, print and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short passages with a link back to the original page. You may not copy whole articles, republish them on another website, or use them to train or feed automated systems without our written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to access areas you are not authorized to reach, scrape it at a rate that slows it down for other readers, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Third-party services

Some features of the site rely on third-party providers, such as hosting, analytics and other services described in our privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those providers.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, ILMI Laws is not liable for any loss or damage that results from relying on information on this site, from any interruption of the site, or from any error or omission in its content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
